Community Service

“Since the Gospel message is one of peace, love, patience and respect for others…Today’s Catholic schools must respond to these challenges by developing in its students a commitment to community and to the social skills and virtues needed to achieve it.” (To Teach As Jesus Did, A Pastoral message on Catholic Education)

St. John Vianney School instills a commitment to community in its students, beginning in Transitional Kindergarten. All students must complete some level of community service. Students participate in community service through class and school-wide projects. The 7th and 8th grade students are required to do a total of 30 hours as part of their Confirmation Program.

Community service projects include:

  • Eskaton Senior Center
  • Meals on Wheels
  • Casa Coloma
  • Loaves and Fishes
  • Canned Food Drive Kids Can
  • Parish Toy Drive
  • Wells Springs Womens Center
  • Ronald McDonald House
